Stencilled and hand painted details added.
I’m a big film geek, and thought I would make a stencil for the Lost Highway film, by David Lynch. I put it together from two promotional images, and edited/filtered in Photoshop. It took a long time to cut out the stencil, a painfully long time but it was worth it.
I made this as a birthday present for Teresa in 2008. She is the biggest zombie movie fan that I know, and Dawn of the Dead is one of the classic zombie flicks. Needless to say she loves it.
The stencil was made by firstly attaching a print out of image to a cereal box and painstakingly cutting the image’s white space out. Secondly I painted the black foreground and the film poster’s apocalyptic purple tinged sky on to a canvas. Finally I stenciled the zombie and text in place, painted the head’s shading and added the eyes.
